National Inclusion Week: Creating an Inclusive Space in Our Center

From May 25 to 31, a large-scale annual information campaign — National Inclusion Week — was held in Ukraine under the slogan «Accessibility is when you can!». This initiative is part of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space until 2030, initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska.
The campaign covers the removal of restrictions and the creation of equal conditions in 6 key areas: physical, social, economic, educational, digital, and informational. Accessibility begins with understanding human needs and readiness to create conditions in which everyone can realize their potential.
Our Center also actively participated in the week's events. A seminar for employees was held within the walls of the institution, attended by Volodymyr Ivanovych Pervushyn — Chief State Labor Inspector of the Labor Issues Department of the Inspection Activity Office in the Zhytomyr Region of the Central-Western Interregional Department of the State Labor Service.
The main topic of the meeting was discussing how to make the workspace as accessible and comfortable as possible for everyone. During the event, participants:
- Familiarized themselves with legislative norms that guarantee equality of labor rights and prohibit any manifestations of discrimination in the workplace.
- Examined the main types of barriers: physical, informational, and psychological.
- Paid special attention to mental barriers, because they most often become an obstacle on the way to creating a truly inclusive environment.
The Center's team emphasized that the formation of a barrier-free labor market largely depends on the active position of employers, their readiness to implement the principles of equality, respect, and accessibility in the workplace.
