The Constitution of Ukraine — the Safeguard of Our Freedom and Guarantee of Every Child's Rights

On June 28, Ukraine celebrates Constitution Day — the holiday of the Basic Law that lays the foundation of our independence, democracy, and equality. For our Center, this holiday holds special significance, as the Constitution of Ukraine clearly defines the human being, their life, health, honor, dignity, inviolability, and safety as the highest social value of our state.

The rights of the child, their comprehensive development, healthcare, and social protection are among the key priorities declared in the Basic Law. We work daily to bring these constitutional guarantees to life, providing every child in need with high-quality rehabilitation, professional medical care, and sincere human support.

Constitutional Rights of Children and State Duties

The Constitution of Ukraine contains a number of important articles directly relating to human rights and the protection of childhood:

• Article 3: The human being, their life and health, honor and dignity, inviolability and security are recognized in Ukraine as the highest social value.
• Article 24: Citizens have equal constitutional rights and freedoms and are equal before the law.
• Article 51: Family, childhood, motherhood, and fatherhood are protected by the state.
• Article 52: Children are equal in their rights regardless of their origin, and whether they are born in or out of wedlock. Any violence against a child and their exploitation shall be prosecuted by law.
